family and friends:

We are wishing you good vibes during this crazy, unprecedented time in this thing we call life. We recognize that the lack of trusted information about global events has caused uncertainty for us all. A large number of our guests work in healthcare, emergency response, and travel. Please keep them in your thoughts as they navigate these challenging waters.

You’ll be getting some mail soon. Given the current risk to everyone’s health and economic security, we have decided to cancel our June 5th celebration in Napa. This decision was not easy, but your well-being is our priority.

It was important for us that the days leading up to our wedding were full of excitement, not stress and anxiety. We will postpone our marriage to an intimate celebration in brighter times (and when California is issuing marriage licenses again…). We are finding comfort in the fact that a wedding is about the commitment, not the event.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for anyone who has already booked travel. We’ve checked many policies across airlines, hotels, and Airbnbs. You should be able to cancel flights and accomodations with a full refund across all major companies. If you’d still like to travel to Napa, please read the note below.

Thank you so much for all of the love and support. We are the luckiest.

— Ashly + Adam

PS: A few of you have asked us to leave our registry open, but we want to stress that gifts are truly not necessary.

A note about Napa + our vendors

Napa: If you would still like to take a trip to Napa, we strongly encourage you to postpone it until harvest season in September/October. Napa is an international tourist attraction and was not under a shelter-in-place order as immediately as the rest of the Bay Area. Unfortunately, large events through Memorial Day have been cancelled in the area and many of our favorite restaurants have permanently shut their doors. This suggests to us that Napa won’t be Napa until harvest. Please let us know when you’re in town. We would still love to share our favorite place with you (+ Ashly has that industry discount…)!

Our vendors: We were proud and blessed to work with a team of completely female-owned businesses. They made this process an amazing experience, and we’re so bummed we won’t be able to bring our collective collaboration to life. Small businesses are suffering during this time as well, so a friendly reminder to show them some love. None of this would have been possible without one of our best friends, Lisa Gaskarth of Eight Seven Events. If you’re engaged, this is your superwoman.
